FED: Evidence confirms need for GST free food, Democrats say
SYDNEY, Feb 5 AAP - The need for food to be GST free was confirmed by evidence from
economic modellers at a parliamentary tax inquiry this week, Democrats Senator Andrew Murray
said today.
"The consequence of our judgment of the evidence of what we've heard from modellers to date
is to confirm that the Democrats are on the right track and that food should be GST free,"
Senator Murray told reporters in Sydney.
He was speaking after the Senate inquiry into a new tax system heard a glowing report from
